Glenn Member Spotlight: Mary Carter Van Atta

From scouts to youth ministry, this Glenn member is a familiar face! We are highlighting Mary Carter Van Atta for our second Glenn Member Spotlight of the summer.

E: How did you become a part of Glenn?

M: I joined Glenn because I was raised United Methodist and was a young adult looking for a church that would engage "my heart and my head."

E: What ministries are you a part of?

M: Currently, as the Mom of a 14 year old, I am engaged in Youth ministry, Scouting ministry, and in local missions!

E: Could you tell us a story about the community at Glenn?

M: I am a high school teacher who found out early one Sunday morning that one of my students had died the night before. I broke down during the church service and immediately several retired teachers in the congregation swooped in to console me. I am so thankful for their compassion and understanding.

E: What is one special memory you have at Glenn?

M: I attended my first ever congregational meeting when Glenn where I proudly voted for Glenn to become a Reconciling Ministries Church.

Thank you, Mary Carter Van Atta, for all that you do for this community and for sharing a little bit about yourself with us!
