Glenn Memorial UMC hosts several local Scout Troops - both Scouts BSA and Girl Scouts. We celebrate the Scouting ministries each year at our Children’s Sabbath and Scout Sunday - save-the-date for March 2nd, 2025!

Children's Sabbath & Scout Sunday
Sunday, March 2 | 8:30am & 11:00am
Our annual celebration of children & scouting ministries where the kids take over and lead us in worship at both the 8:30am service in the Little Chapel and the 11am service in the Sanctuary. The Cherub Choir and Covenant Choir will both be singing and if your child would like a speaking part or music part in Children's Sabbath, please contact Rev. Susan!

Scouts BSA Troop 18
Scout Troop 18’s charter goes back to 1920, making it one of the first troops in DeKalb County. Glenn sponsored Troop 18 from 1925-2023. Troop 18 is now sponsored by T18/P6 4Ever Inc. and conducts activities at Glenn Memorial Church and surrounding locations. Troop 18 scouts look forward to 10 to 12 outings a year, including activities such as canoeing, hiking, camping, caving, climbing, skiing, and more plus ongoing leadership development. A child must be 11 years old and in the 5th grade to join the troop. Troop meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Scout Hut behind the Glenn Youth and Activities Building (1669 North Decatur Road). Cub Scouts Pack 6
Cub Scouts Pack 6 was sponsored by Glenn from 1935-2023 and is also now sponsored by T18/P6 4Ever Inc. Den meetings and activities such as community service, camping, and the Pinewood Derby are held on various days and times at Glenn Memorial Church and surrounding locations.
