Snack in a Backpack provides food on Fridays to children who are at risk of hunger on the weekends. The program currently serves over 200 children as well as 38 refugee families. Volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoons to set up, pack food bags, and load food into vehicles for school deliveries. All ages welcomed. Due to recent shortages at the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Snack in a Backpack is in need of one-pound bags of white rice, lentils and other assorted dried beans for the refugee families it serves. These donations may be left at the church office.
