United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women is a national organization of approximately one million members. The purpose of the UMW is to develop a supportive and creative fellowship, foster spiritual growth, advocate for social justice, and expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church. All together, the members of UMW raise nearly $25 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Glenn Memorial has six UMW “circles,” which are small groups of women who meet monthly for fellowship, study, prayer, and discussions. Once a month the members of all the circles are invited to meet together for a special program. United Methodist Women Circles welcome guests and prospective members to their meetings at all times. This is a particularly good time to accept an open invitation to one of the three newest circles: Esther, which meets on the first Thursday of each month; Miriam, which meets on the second Monday of each month; and Joanna, which meets on the second Wednesday of each month. See contact information below. September Meeting DatesThe Esther Circle will meet on Thursday, September 2, 7:00 pm in the home of Nancy Asbury, 770-939-5288. For more information about the Esther Circle, contact Carolyn Knight at 404-210-4267. The Joanna Circle will meet on Wednesday, September 15, location TBA.
