Purpose of Organization

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFH seeks to eliminate poverty, housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities safe, decent, affordable shelter.

Volunteer Opportunities

Each year for the last fifteen years, Glenn Memorial has worked with a partner church to build a Habitat House. Each house requires 15 volunteers from each church for seven Saturdays, plus a food crew to provide lunch. Volunteers at all skill levels are welcome to build on site, make sandwiches, or deliver the meal one or more Saturdays during each “build.”

2010 Habitat Project Information

May 15 - July 10, 2010

This spring, Glenn will again partner with Cascade UMC and Lutheran Church of the Redeemer to build a Habitat house. The build will start on May 15th and run through July 10th, skipping May 29 and July 2nd.
