HABITAT FOR HUMANITY:
Been wanting to try a Habitat build? Come see a house go up from the foundation while putting in some sweat equity with a deserving family. Be a part of this life changing project now and you’ll be a pro for our 7 week long Glenn build this spring. We will depart from the YAAB at 7:15am and put in a full day’s work, returning by 5pm (usually between 3 and 4pm). Volunteers for this project must by 16 or older.
BURBANK PARK:
Wear insect repellent & old but sturdy shoes to this outdoor effort! Kids welcome. Be at the corner of N. Decatur and Oxford Rd. (old BP location) by 9:00am.
SANDWICH MAKING:
To prepare a noontime feast for our skaters, we will need folks to donate food or part of their Saturday morning to make sandwiches. Sandwich assembly will start about 9 am in the YAAB.
ICM FOOD PANTRY:
Sort, pack, and give out donated food at the In-town Collaborative Ministries Food Pantry. Glenn is an active part of this ministry cooperative of congregations in zip codes 30306 and 30307. Ages 10 and up welcome. Meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9.30am and plan to return by 1:30 pm.
TRINITY TOUR:
This project is specifically designed as a parent child (Pre-K through 2nd grade) service in the city opportunity. You will take a field trip downtown to Trinity United Methodist Church and see how Glenn does service there. Tour the Trinity Soup Kitchen and stir the big soup pot and then look around Mary Freedom Hall shelter. Kids will then complete a craft project that will be donated as decoration for Trinity. Meet at Fellowship Hall at 9:30am and we will be back by noon.
SKATING in the YAAB:
For those who really enjoy just rolling along, Glenn members of all ages will work with Action Ministry to host a group of Atlanta children/teens for a few trips around the rink and lunch. We’ll need both supervisors and skaters at 10:00a.m. Meet at the YAAB. Kids are welcome!
ATLANTA DAY SHELTER LUNCH:
Help cook and serve lunch at the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. Meet (or drop off donations) in Fellowship Hall by 10am. Depending on numbers, kids may be able to volunteer with a parent.
