Christmas Eve Services

Christmas Service
Christmas Eve service

The Christmas Story - 5:00 PM

A community favorite for over thirty years, this service portrays the Christmas story in drama and song, with angels, shepherds, wise men, and the Holy Family.  During the service, all children are invited to come sing "Away in a Manger" to the Baby Jesus.
A carol sing begins at 4:30pm - led by Rev. Dr. Bill Mallard.  Arrive early for the best seating. Childcare is available during this service for children ages 6 weeks through 4 years old.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion - 11:00 PM

Pre-service music by the Glenn Chamber Choir and Emory University organist Dr. Timothy Albrecht begins at 10:30.  This service includes music by the Glenn Youth & Alumni choir, a Christmas Eve homily by the Rev. Dr. Alice Rogers, the Sacrament of Holy Communion, and ends with candle lighting as the congregation sings "Silent Night" to the accompaniment of a single guitar, as it was when it was sung for the first time in 1818.
